The Duxion eJet Electric Jet Propulsion Motor

In May 2023, we were on the ground in Summerside, PEI as Duxion Motors conducted a historic test for the future of flight. This cinematic video needed to capture the anticipation, drama, and significance of a test years in the making, that — if successful — would mean the first patented electric motor capable of matching the performance of a conventional jet engine.

Getting Revved

To set the scene, we set our alarms early (like, real early), shooting during magic hour as the Duxion team carefully prepared the testing site. By combining dramatic drone footage and on-the-ground, up-close videography, we were able to capture the scale of the event, the advanced technology, and the skills and focus of the team.

We made sure that the eJet itself was the star, by capturing hypnotic footage of the beautiful — and ground-breaking — blue glow of the world’s first rim-driven electric jet propulsion motor.

An Electrifying Experience

Duxion did it! The team successfully pulled off a successful ground test of the eJet, marking a world first, and laying the runway for the electric flight era. Their excited reactions said it all; we just had to make sure our cameras were on hand to capture the hugs, hollers, and high-fives!
